The Tree of Whispers also provides rare items, making it ideal for casual players with limited playtime.
Once every 90 minutes, the Tree of Whispers will generate Grim Favor objectives called Whispers across five regions of Sanctuary. Whispers grant one to five Grim Favors depending on their difficulty or time investment. For example, clearing a dungeon cellar will grant one Grim Favor while clearing an entire dungeon gives five. Exact Grim Favor payouts can be seen below.

After you've earned ten Grim Favors, return to the Tree of Whispers in Hawezar to receive your reward. Bear in mind that you cannot hold more than ten Grim Favors, so be sure to claim your rewards as they're available.
With ten Grim Favor, the Tree of Whispers will present you with three reward caches the next time you speak to it. You can pick one reward bundle. These bundles are labeled by item category, biasing that specific gear type when opened. There's also a chance that the Tree of Whispers will give you a Legendary reward bundle, guaranteeing a Legendary item from the cache. Claiming a cache will reset your Grim Favor.
The reward caches themselves include multiple weapons and/or armor pieces, socketable gems, and a high chance of earning at least one Nightmare Sigil—a consumable item that improves the difficulty and rewards of a specific dungeon. The Tree of Whisper rewards are a great way of target-farming certain slot upgrades when you're just breaking into the endgame. Once you get a stockpile of Nightmare Sigils, you'll be ready to start farming Diablo IV's core endgame activity: Nightmare Dungeons.
