Attunements Unlock

The Burning Crusade's attunement system is one of the most elaborate progression gates in WoW history — an interconnected chain of dungeon runs, Heroic clears, reputation thresholds, and raid kills. The Anniversary realms keep that structure but add account-wide unlocks that make the whole thing far less repetitive once your main is done.

• Alts Skip the Grind — For Heroic dungeon keys, alts only need Friendly reputation and a Bind-on-Account key rather than the full Revered grind, making a second or third raider viable fast

• Gruul and Magtheridon Are Free — Neither raid requires attunement; any level 70 walks in, so the real Phase 1 unlocks are Karazhan and the Heroic keys

• Karazhan (The Master's Key) — A multi-step chain starting at level 68 in Deadwind Pass, running through Shadow Labyrinth, Steamvault, and the Black Morass dungeon before Khadgar grants the key

• Heroic Keys — Each dungeon hub requires Revered reputation with its faction to buy the Heroic key from the Quartermaster; several raid attunements depend on specific Heroic clears, so keys come first

• Chains Are Interdependent — Later attunements require earlier ones: Mount Hyjal needs both The Eye and Serpentshrine Cavern plus Revered with Keepers of Time, and Black Temple requires the long Medallion of Karabor chain

• Phase-Aware — Some raid attunements are removed in later phases while others stay in place; we complete only what's actually required on the current phase and note where a chain now grants a title rather than access

• Title Rewards — Several chains grant prestige titles like Hand of A'dal and Champion of the Naaru along the way
