The Diablo 4 Season 15 endgame is built around one progression ladder: 12 Torment tiers, each unlocked by clearing The Pit. You start by clearing Pit Tier 10 to unlock Torment 1, then improve your character through Paragon, Tempering, Masterworking and Mythic Uniques, and farm Lair Bosses, the Kurast Undercity, Infernal Hordes and Helltides to push higher. Torment 10 is the most important milestone, because that is where Mythic Seals and much stronger Mythic odds come into play.
Season 15 adds new layers on top of this structure: Soul Splinters in your jewelry, Challenge Dungeons that let you test higher Torment tiers, deterministic Mythic crafting, and Legacy Uniques. In this guide, the Mythic Store team explains how the endgame works, what to do at each stage, and how to fit the new Season 15 systems into your progression.
The Season 15 details below are based on the 3.2.0 PTR and may change with the live patch.
How the Diablo 4 Endgame Works
Diablo 4 has 16 difficulty levels. The first four, Normal, Hard, Expert and Penitent, are for leveling. After level 70, the real endgame begins with Torment 1 to Torment 12.
The Pit unlocks every Torment tier. Clearing Pit Tier 10 unlocks Torment 1, and higher Pit tiers unlock the following tiers, up to Torment 12 at around Pit Tier 100. The difficulty screen shows the Pit tier you need for the next unlock.
Each Torment tier raises rewards. Higher tiers bring more Experience and Gold, better Unique and Mythic odds, and more crafting materials.
Tiers are sequential. You cannot skip a tier, so progression is a steady climb rather than a jump.
Your character grows in parallel. Paragon levels, Glyphs, Tempering, Masterworking, Talisman Charms and Mythic Uniques all add power that lets you clear the next Pit tier.
A useful rule for the whole endgame: unlocking a Torment tier and farming it are two different decisions. Farm the highest tier you can clear quickly and safely, not the highest tier you have unlocked.

Stage 1: Level 70 to Torment 1
Your first goal after level 70 is to clear Pit Tier 10. Most leveling builds can do this quickly once their gear is updated.
Switch to Penitent if your character clears it comfortably. It gives better rewards while you gear up.
Replace your leveling gear with level 70 items from drops, vendors and the Blacksmith.
Make sure your core build pieces are equipped, especially the Aspects your main skill depends on.
Continue your War Plans and Helltides for Experience, Gold and materials.
Clear Pit Tier 10, then change the difficulty at a World Statue to unlock Torment 1.
From this point on, sub-Legendary items are converted into crafting materials automatically, and Ancestral items start to drop.
Stage 2: Torment 1 to Torment 4
This stage is about building your foundations. You are not chasing perfect items yet, but setting up the systems that will carry you through the rest of the season.
Build Your Paragon
Paragon points arrive with every level of Experience after 70. Follow your build's Paragon path and aim for your first Legendary Paragon node early. Socket Glyphs into your boards as soon as you have them, because they add a large share of your damage.
Temper and Masterwork Your Key Pieces
Tempering adds build-specific affixes to your gear, and Masterworking upgrades its existing affixes. Focus on your weapon and the pieces you will keep for a while. Do not spend rare materials on items you expect to replace within a day.
Start the Lair Boss Ladder
The five Initiate Lair Bosses are available from Torment 1. You can fight them for free and spend a Lair Key to open the Hoard. Each Hoard guarantees a boss-specific Unique and also gives a Greater Lair Key, which you will need in the next stage. Farm the boss that drops the Unique your build needs most.
Set Up Your Talisman
Equip Charms that support your build and keep an eye out for Unique Charms. In Season 15, any Unique Charm can drop as a Mythic Charm with maximum rolls and a stronger Unique effect.
Socket Your First Soul Splinters
Soul Splinters are the Season 15 seasonal mechanic. They go into your amulet and rings, each granting a resistance, a strong bonus and a drawback. At this stage, a defensive Splinter such as Pain or Sin often helps more than raw damage, because early Torment tiers punish weak defenses.
Stage 3: Torment 5 to Torment 9
This is where the endgame opens up. Your build is functional, and you now have access to every major activity.
Farm Greater Lair Bosses and Belial
Duriel, Echo of Andariel, Harbinger of Hatred and The Butcher require Greater Lair Keys and offer better Mythic odds than Initiate bosses. After opening a Lair Boss Hoard, Belial can ambush you. Defeating him drops Betrayer's Husks, and 2 Husks open Belial's own Hoard, where you choose which boss's loot table to receive.
Run the Kurast Undercity
The Undercity is a timed activity where you raise your Attunement by lighting Beacons and killing enemies before facing the boss. Tributes of Armaments determine the reward pool. Save your Mythic Tributes for later, because their value rises sharply at Torment 10 and above.
Add Infernal Hordes and Escalating Nightmares
Infernal Hordes lead to Bartuc, who drops Chaos Armor and his own Unique table, including Azurewrath. You need at least 666 Burning Aether to challenge him. Escalating Nightmares end with Astaroth, the source of Crown of Lucion and several class Uniques.
Craft Your First Mythics
Season 15 makes Mythic crafting far more reliable:
Horadric Cube direct upgrade: turns the exact Unique you insert into its Mythic version, keeping all affixes, Tempering and Masterworking. You can equip only one item made this way, so use it on your most important Unique after you have finished upgrading it.
Jeweler Rune Crafting: creates a random class-specific Mythic for a slot you choose.
Blacksmith Mythic Cache: creates a random Mythic Unique or Iconic Mythic for your class.
Only the Cube recipe has an equip limit, so the Jeweler and Blacksmith are the way to fill your other slots.
Use Challenge Dungeons to Test Your Next Tier
Challenge Dungeons are new in Season 15. Portals appear in the Overland and lead to a boss fight, and on Torment difficulties you can raise that fight by up to three Torment tiers above your current difficulty for better rewards.
This makes them the safest way to check whether your build is ready for a higher tier. If you can beat a Challenge Dungeon boss two tiers above your current difficulty, you are likely ready to push the Pit for the next unlock.
Stage 4: Torment 10 to Torment 12
Torment 10 is the key milestone of the endgame. Several of the most valuable rewards in the game only become available or become much more common from here.
Mythic Seals for your Talisman start dropping at Torment 10 and above, and Mephisto is their best-known source.
Mythic Tributes of Armaments gain a greatly increased Mythic chance at Torment 10 and guarantee at least one Mythic at Torment 12, based on Season 14 rules.
Mephisto requires the Crux of the False Prophet and is one of the hardest fights in the game.
Echo of Lilith remains the pinnacle challenge for fully optimized builds.
For most players, Torment 10 is the realistic long-term farming tier. Torment 11 and 12 add more Experience and Gold and the best Tribute odds, but they require a highly optimized build. Push there only when your farming speed on Torment 10 is fast and safe.
A Simple Endgame Farming Loop
Once you reach the middle of the Torment ladder, a repeatable loop keeps every system progressing at the same time.
Run Helltides and War Plans for Cinders, materials, Experience and Lair Keys.
Spend your Lair Keys on the bosses whose Uniques you still need.
Use Greater Lair Keys and Betrayer's Husks on Greater Lair Bosses and Belial for Mythic chances.
Run the Undercity and Infernal Hordes when you have Tributes or Compasses.
Push the Pit whenever your build improves, to unlock the next Torment tier.
Enter Challenge Dungeons when a portal appears near you, and choose a difficulty above your current tier for extra rewards.
How Season 15 Changes the Endgame
System | What It Means for Your Endgame |
|---|---|
Soul Splinters | Three extra slots of power and risk in your jewelry. Swap between farming and pushing setups. |
Challenge Dungeons | A way to test and farm above your current Torment tier without changing it. |
Direct Mythic upgrade | Your best Unique can become a Mythic with all of its upgrades kept. |
Unique versions of Iconic Mythics | Build-defining items become available earlier in your progression. |
Legacy Uniques | New build options, such as Leoric's Crown and Stone of Jordan. |
Mythic Charms | A long-term chase item for your Talisman. |
Overland Ambushes | Rare, difficult encounters in the open world. Fight only if your build is ready. |
Rebirth | Bring an Eternal character into the season, starting again at level 1. |
Two Soul Splinter Setups, Not One
Soul Splinters are the one Season 15 system worth managing actively. A farming setup and a pushing setup work very differently:
Farming: Splinter of Lies for more Gold, materials and Experience, Splinter of the Black Soulstone for kill-based damage, plus one damage Splinter.
Pushing and bossing: Splinter of Pain and Splinter of Sin for survivability, plus one damage Splinter. Black Soulstone loses its value against single bosses, because it needs constant kills.
For damage, choose Splinter of Hellfire if your build does not rely on Critical Strikes, or Splinter of Anguish if it does. Never combine the two, since Hellfire removes the Critical Strike Chance that Anguish provides.
Common Endgame Mistakes

Farming the highest unlocked tier. Slow clears and frequent deaths cost more than the extra tier gives.
Upgrading items you will replace. Save rare materials for your weapon and long-term pieces.
Using the Crafted Mythic slot too early. You can equip only one direct Cube Mythic, so reserve it for your core Unique once it is fully upgraded.
Spending Mythic Tributes on low tiers. Their Mythic chance scales strongly with Torment.
Ignoring defense. Resistances, Armor and Damage Reduction matter more with every tier, and Soul Splinter drawbacks make them even more important.
Transfiguring a future Mythic. Unmodifiable items cannot use the direct Cube upgrade.
