Diablo 4 Season 15 is expected to start on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, right after BlizzCon. Patch 3.2.0 brings Soul Splinters as the new seasonal mechanic, Challenge Dungeons, Overland Ambushes, nine returning Legacy Uniques, a direct Mythic crafting recipe, Mythic Charms, character Rebirth, and a large balance pass for all eight classes.
In this guide, the Mythic Store team breaks down every confirmed Season 15 feature, marks which systems are seasonal and which are permanent, and explains what you can do now to be ready on launch day. Everything below is based on the 3.2.0 PTR, so some values may still change before release.

When Does Diablo 4 Season 15 Start?
Season 15 is expected to go live on September 15, 2026. The date comes from the Reliquary countdown in the game client, which shows the current season ending in mid-September. Blizzard has not published an official start date or launch time yet.
Season 14, Season of Death Awakening, began on June 30, 2026. A September 15 reset would give it a run of roughly 11 weeks, which fits the usual Diablo 4 season length. Past seasons have typically gone live around 10:00 a.m. PDT after a short maintenance window.
BlizzCon 2026 takes place on September 12 and 13. Blizzard stated that the 3.2.0 PTR intentionally held back part of the Season 15 content for the event, so expect the season name, theme and the remaining features to be revealed there. We will update this guide once the full patch notes are live.
What Is New in Diablo 4 Season 15?
The table below summarizes every feature tested on the 3.2.0 PTR and whether it stays after the season ends. This matters if you mainly play on the Eternal Realm.

Soul Splinters: The Season 15 Seasonal Mechanic

Soul Splinters are the headline seasonal power of Season 15. They are socketable items that go into your jewelry and provide an elemental or physical resistance along with one powerful effect. Every Splinter also carries a drawback, so each one is a build decision rather than free power.
How Soul Splinters Work
They socket into jewelry, which means your amulet and rings.
They come in five rarities: Common, Magic, Rare, Legendary and Unique.
Higher rarities increase the bonus, while the drawback stays the same.
Lower-rarity Splinters can be upgraded in the Horadric Cube.
Most Splinters grant a single resistance, while the Splinter of the Black Soulstone grants All Stats and the Splinter of Hellfire grants Resistance to All Elements.
All Eight Soul Splinters
The ranges below show the lowest and highest values listed on the PTR. Multiplicative bonuses are marked as such because they scale much harder than additive ones.
Soul Splinter | Stat | Bonus | Drawback |
|---|---|---|---|
Splinter of Anguish | Fire Resistance | +15 to 35% Critical Strike Chance and Attack Speed | Primary Resource costs increased by 30% |
Splinter of Sin | Lightning Resistance | +10 to 40% multiplicative Maximum Health | Maximum Primary Resource reduced by 30% |
Splinter of Lies | Cold Resistance | +40 to 100% Gold and Crafting Material drop rate, +25% bonus Experience | You are always Weakened and Vulnerable |
Splinter of the Black Soulstone | All Stats | Each kill absorbs a soul for 15 seconds, each soul adds 2 to 5% multiplicative damage | Each soul increases damage taken by 0.5%, and the stacks do not refresh |
Splinter of Pain | Poison Resistance | +10 to 40% Damage Reduction | Movement Speed reduced by 30% |
Splinter of the Mother | Physical Resistance | You are Unhindered, and touching enemies makes them Vulnerable for 10 seconds | After touching 100 to 250 enemies, you are Stunned for 4 seconds |
Splinter of Hellfire | Resistance to All Elements | +40 to 100% multiplicative damage | You lose 100% Critical Strike Chance |
Splinter of Damnation | Shadow Resistance | Each Elite pack kill raises Monster Power by 1 for 10 to 25 seconds | Fights become harder while the effect is active |
Which Builds Benefit From Each Splinter
Based on how the bonuses and penalties interact, this is how we expect the Splinters to fit into builds at launch:
Splinter of Hellfire is the most obvious pick for builds that already ignore Critical Strike, such as damage-over-time setups. For them, the drawback costs almost nothing.
Splinter of Anguish suits builds with cheap skills or strong resource generation. Resource-hungry builds will feel the 30% cost increase immediately.
Splinter of the Black Soulstone rewards constant killing. Because the soul stacks do not refresh, the bonus fades during long single-target fights, so it favors speed farming over bossing.
Splinter of Pain is a defensive option for bossing and Pit pushing, where Movement Speed matters less than staying alive.
Splinter of Sin trades resource pool for a large health increase, which makes it interesting for Hardcore characters with good resource sustain.
Splinter of Lies is a leveling and farming tool for content you clearly outgear. Being permanently Weakened and Vulnerable makes it a poor choice for pushing difficulty.
Splinter of the Mother fits melee builds that stay in contact with enemies, but the forced Stun makes it risky in Hardcore.
Splinter of Damnation is aimed at farmers who want denser, harder fights and can handle sudden spikes in Monster Power.
Known PTR Issues to Keep in Mind
Two interactions caused confusion on the PTR, and neither should shape your launch plan until the live patch notes clarify them.
Equipping the same Soul Splinter in two rings at different qualities could activate the weaker version, depending on the order the rings were equipped.
The interaction between Soul Splinters and Leoric's Crown gave inconsistent results. Some players saw amplified effects, others did not.
Challenge Dungeons
Challenge Dungeons are a new open-world activity. While you explore the Overland, a portal can open that leads to a boss encounter. No key, Sigil or consumable is required to enter.
On Torment difficulties, you can choose to raise the fight up to three Torment tiers above your current difficulty, and higher difficulty brings better rewards. This makes Challenge Dungeons a practical way to test whether your build is ready for a higher Torment tier without changing your global difficulty.
Blizzard stated that the PTR encounters were built only to test the system. The live bosses, their mechanics and the final reward tables will be different, so avoid investing rare materials to counter a specific PTR boss.
Overland Ambushes
Overland Ambushes are rare encounters in which a powerful demon starts hunting you while you roam Sanctuary. You receive a warning and then have 30 seconds to either flee or prepare for the fight.
Blizzard describes this encounter as difficult and aimed at strong characters. If you play Hardcore, treat the 30-second warning as your decision point and only stay if your defenses are solid.
Legacy Uniques

Season 15 brings back iconic items from Diablo, Diablo II and Diablo III. These are permanent additions available in every version of Diablo 4, not seasonal items. Blizzard also clarified that they are regular Uniques in terms of power, so they are not meant to be ultra-rare chase items.
Legacy Unique | Slot | Classes |
|---|---|---|
Leoric's Crown | Helm | All classes |
Nemesis Bracers | Gloves | All classes |
Stone of Jordan | Ring | All classes |
Squirt's Blouse | Chest | All classes |
Arioc's Needle | Two-Handed Polearm | Barbarian, Druid, Spiritborn |
Henri's Perquisition | Offhand Focus | Sorcerer, Necromancer, Warlock |
In-Geom | One-Handed Sword | Barbarian, Druid, Rogue, Necromancer, Paladin, Warlock |
The Furnace | Two-Handed Mace | Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Paladin, Warlock |
Messerschmidt's Reaver | Two-Handed Axe | Barbarian, Druid, Necromancer, Paladin, Warlock |
A few details are worth knowing before launch:
Messerschmidt's Reaver was not testable on the PTR and will only appear with Season 15.
Squirt's Blouse is a new take on Squirt's Necklace, moved into the Chest slot.
Blizzard's announcement lists nine items but refers to ten Legacy Uniques elsewhere in the text, so one more item may still be revealed.
Leoric's Crown and Stone of Jordan
The effects of Legacy Uniques are adapted to Diablo 4 itemization rather than copied one to one. Leoric's Crown is the clearest example. In Diablo 4, the Crown counts as Jewelry and increases the effect of any gem socketed into the helm by 75 to 100%.
Because Soul Splinters also socket into jewelry, the Crown immediately became the most discussed item of the PTR. As mentioned above, its interaction with Splinters was inconsistent during testing, so wait for the live patch notes before building around it.
Stone of Jordan drew the second most attention. On the PTR, it raised your elemental resistances to match your highest one, which pairs naturally with Splinters that grant a large amount of a single resistance.
Mythic Crafting Changes
Season 15 makes Mythic Uniques far more deterministic. The main crafting methods stay the same, but the results are no longer a gamble when you use the new Horadric Cube recipe.
Method | Result | Crafted Tag |
|---|---|---|
Horadric Cube: Upgrade Direct Item to Mythic | Turns the exact item you insert into its Mythic version | Yes |
Jeweler: Rune Crafting | Random class-specific Mythic Unique for the slot you choose | No |
Blacksmith: Mythic Cache | Random Mythic Unique or Iconic Mythic valid for your class | No |
The Horadric Cube Direct Upgrade
The "Upgrade Direct Item to Mythic" recipe is a full one-to-one transfer. The item keeps its affixes, Tempering, Masterworking and other modifications, so a perfectly rolled Unique becomes a perfectly rolled Mythic. The recipe costs more than the Jeweler and Blacksmith options.
There are two important restrictions:
The recipe does not work on Unmodifiable items, so avoid Transfiguring a Unique you plan to upgrade.
Mythics created this way receive a Crafted tag, and you can equip only one Crafted item at a time.
Mythics from the Jeweler and the Blacksmith do not receive the Crafted tag. This means you can still wear several Mythics, as long as only one of them comes from the direct Cube recipe.
Unique Versions of Iconic Mythics
Every Iconic Mythic will also exist as a regular Unique. These versions are easier to find earlier in your character's progression, so you can start playing the core of a build before you complete the full Mythic chase. The Mythic version remains the stronger upgrade for endgame.
New Unique Charms and Mythic Charms
The Talisman system grows in two ways in Season 15.
16 new Unique Charms are based on existing Uniques that had no Charm version before. Most of the Legacy Uniques will also receive Charm versions.
Mythic Unique Charms can now drop from any Unique Charm at a low chance. They roll with maximum property values and a significantly stronger Unique effect.
Mythic Charms cannot be crafted, and there is no targeted farm for them. They are pure drops, which makes them a long-term chase for the season rather than something you can plan around on day one.
Rebirth: Bring an Eternal Character Into Season 15

Rebirth lets you convert an existing Eternal character into a Seasonal character instead of creating a new one. The character moves to the Seasonal Realm and starts again from level 1. A running total of playtime is tracked across all of that character's Rebirths.
What Rebirth Keeps and What It Resets
Rebirth keeps the following:
Class, name and appearance
Normal or Hardcore status
Transmogs and pigments
Mounts and mount accessories
Pets, portals and headstones
Rebirth resets your level and progression. Gear does not carry over, so the character starts the season exactly like a new one in terms of power.
How to Use Rebirth
Choose the Eternal character you want to bring into Season 15.
Move every equipped item and every item in the personal inventory into your Eternal stash.
Start Rebirth. The game will not let you continue while any items remain equipped or in the inventory.
Read the warning carefully. It gives you the option to remove the items or destroy them, so make sure everything valuable is already in your stash.
Confirm, and the character enters the Seasonal Realm at level 1.
Keep in mind that the character is transferred, not copied. If you still want to play that character on the Eternal Realm, choose a different one for Rebirth.
Horadric Post
The Horadric Post is a new account-wide delivery system. Blizzard will use it to send rewards, supplies, commemorative items and messages directly to your account.
The system is strictly one-way. Players cannot send items or messages to each other through it, so it does not function as a trading or mail system between players.
Diablo 4 Season 15 Class Changes
Patch 3.2.0 changes how much damage each class gets from its core stat, then retunes skills, Paragon, Aspects and Uniques on top of that. The core stat change affects every build of the class, so it is the first thing to check when you plan your season.
Class | Core Stat Scaling | Key Changes |
|---|---|---|
Barbarian | Strength reduced from 1.1% to 0.8% damage per 10 points | Madawc damage halved, Two-Handed Sword Bleed bonus reduced, several Paragon nodes and Glyphs lowered, Ring of the Ravenous reworked, Ring of Red Furor now activates at 30 Fury |
Druid | Willpower increased from 1.25% to 1.625% per 10 points | Human Form reworked with Resource Regeneration and bonus damage, big buffs to Greatstaff of the Crone, Fleshrender and Airidah's Inexorable Will, Might of the Ursine reduced |
Necromancer | Intelligence increased from 1.25% to 1.625% per 10 points | Desecrated Ground damage from Darkness variants increased, Blight and Soulrift improved, stronger defensive Aspects, The Unmaker and Ebonpiercer buffed |
Paladin | Strength increased from 1.25% to 1.625% per 10 points | Damage over Time affixes removed for Paladin, X'fal's Corroded Signet no longer equippable, Judgement reworked across skills, Aspects and Cathedral Song |
Rogue | No change | Tricks of the Trade reworked to support Mobility and Trap skills, Grenadier's and Artful Initiative Aspects buffed, Pitfighter's Gull damage doubled, Condemnation gains a new effect |
Sorcerer | Intelligence increased from 1.25% to 1.625% per 10 points | Frostball no longer needs Frozen targets but deals less damage, Orbital Ball Lightning castable while moving, Enchantment Master node reduced, several Frost and Fire Aspects buffed |
Spiritborn | No change | Higher third-hit damage on Basic skills, new Paragon Board Swarm of Storms, Counterattack of the Swarm reduced |
Warlock | No change | Several skills castable while moving, new Superiority Glyph, a large rework of Uniques, and added Damage Reduction or resistances on many Aspects |
General Changes for All Classes
Azurewrath no longer explodes enemies and now damages only the Frozen target, with higher damage.
Eluding Aspect, Aspect of Audacity and Aspect of Rallying Reversal now grant Damage Reduction.
Aspect of Heavenly Strength has lower Damage Reduction but is now available to Spiritborn.
If you play Barbarian, expect a noticeable drop in damage across the board. Druid, Necromancer, Paladin and Sorcerer players gain damage from their core stat before any skill changes are counted.
How to Prepare for Diablo 4 Season 15
A few steps now will save you time in the first days of the season.
Follow BlizzCon on September 12 and 13. The season name, theme and the features Blizzard held back will be revealed there, and they may change your class choice.
Pick your Rebirth character in advance. Empty its gear and inventory into the Eternal stash before launch so you can start the season immediately.
Keep your best Uniques on Eternal. A Unique with ideal affixes, Tempering and Masterworking is now a direct Mythic candidate through the Horadric Cube, so do not salvage or Transfigure it.
Do not lock in expensive decisions based on PTR numbers. Soul Splinter values, Legacy Unique effects and Challenge Dungeon rewards can all change in the live patch.
Plan for your class's new scaling. Barbarian players should expect weaker damage, while classes with a higher core stat scalar can aim for higher Torment tiers earlier.
Check Soul Splinter tooltips on day one. Confirm the live values and avoid stacking two copies of the same Splinter until the equip-order issue is confirmed as fixed.
