Valeera's level cap went from 60 in Season 1 to 80 in Season 2. Every level adds damage and healing to your companion, which matters more than it sounds — she's the difference between a comfortable Delve clear and a run where you're doing everything yourself.
She matters most for one specific fight: Azta'rec on Tier ??. The solo kill rewards the Apophic Soul Crusher flying mount, and the Fabled title has a hard deadline of the opening week of Season 2. Twenty extra levels of companion damage and healing is a meaningful edge on both.
Tier ?? unlocks on August 18. Here's how to get her there in the time remaining.
Why Her Level Actually Matters

Valeera scales linearly — more levels, more throughput. In a Delve she handles one of two mandatory jobs for you, and against Azta'rec specifically she's covering either the Soul Extinction interrupt or the Void Toxin dispel while contributing damage or healing on top.
At level 60 she's serviceable. At level 80 she closes a real gap on a solo Tier ?? attempt where you're already juggling a seven-step memory sequence, a clone add, and a boss that outruns your movement speed.
If the mount and the Fabled title are on your list, her level is not a side detail.
The Current XP Situation
Something worth understanding before you plan your route: right now Valeera is not gaining experience from Delve completions or mob kills.
Her only current XP sources are Mislaid Curiosities and the Nemesis chest.
That's why the Curiosity-farming route is currently the fastest method by a wide margin — normally, straightforward Delve running competes with it or beats it. When standard XP gain returns, regular delving is likely to become the better option again for most players.
Practical read: this window favours the farming route specifically. Don't assume it stays the fastest method past the season start.
Dundun's Favor — The Curio That Makes This Work
The whole strategy rests on one Season 2 curio: Dundun's Favor.
Its effect, in the game's own words: while in combat, two Mislaid Spirits may appear near you. Walking over a Mislaid Curiosity or Mislaid Spirit triggers a volley of five Volatile Sprites at random nearby enemies, each dealing moderate damage. Mislaid Curiosity contents are looted upon activation.
Two things about that change the farming math completely:
You only need to run over Curiosities. No stopping, no cast time. Previously each one required you to halt and channel.
You can loot them in combat. Previously they were only lootable out of combat, which meant clearing or losing your pursuers first.
Together these turn a stop-start grind into a continuous loop where you're never breaking movement.
The Route: Ring of Glory

Ring of Glory is the best Delve for this, for one specific reason: it's an outdoor Delve, which means you can mount inside it.
Mounted movement over Curiosities you no longer need to stop for is the entire strategy. No other Delve offers that combination.
Best story: Open Night. The method works on any story, but this one gives the cleanest run.
Best tier: Tier 11. Higher tiers yield more experience per Curiosity, so run the highest tier you can move through safely. If you're getting killed at 11, drop a tier — dying costs more time than the XP difference is worth.
If You Play a Stealth Class
Grudge Pit is an excellent alternative. Mob density is significantly higher, which means more Curiosities packed into less ground.
The trade-off is real though: that density will kill you if you're not stealthed. This route is specifically for Rogues, Druids, and anyone else who can move through packs untouched. Everyone else should stay in Ring of Glory.
