Zul'jarra's Forces is the only new Renown faction in Patch 12.1, tied entirely to the Coiled Isle. Twenty ranks, three mounts, a pet, a title, four transmog ensembles, and a pile of housing decor.
But buried inside that cosmetic list are six ranks that give real character power — including two Spirit Corrosions for the Altar of Corrosion and the unlock that starts your Corrosive Soul income.
This guide splits the track by what it actually does for you, then covers the fastest way to farm the 50,000 reputation you need to finish it.
The Basics
Ranks | 20 (then Paragon bags) |
Reputation per rank | 2,500 |
Total to cap | 50,000 |
Progress | Account-wide |
Quartermaster | Jan'sari the Watchful, Tokka's Landing (Coiled Isle) |
Vendor currency | Voidlight Marl (profession recipes also use Artisan's Moxie) |
Gate: you need Coiled Isle access first. Start with Hagar's Invitation in central Silvermoon City, follow the campaign through To the Skybridge, and complete What Lies Beyond the Fog — that grants your entire Warband island access. Trying to fly in before that point throws you back out.
The Ranks That Actually Matter
If you only care about power and progression, these are the six ranks to target. Everything else on the track is collection.
Rank | What You Get | Why It Matters |
|---|---|---|
4 | First Curse Surge boss gains a daily chance to drop a Corrosive Soul | Corrosive Souls unlock Corrosive Codex Powers — account-wide passives for outdoor content and Delves. This is your Soul income switching on. |
5 | Profession recipes from Jan'sari | Includes the Ula'tek Snakehead Lure fishing recipe |
6 | Profession knowledge + Voidlight Marl | Free profession progression |
8 | 1 Spirit Corrosion + Curse Surge bosses drop Warbound Veteran gear daily | Spirit Corrosions upgrade the Altar of Corrosion; Warbound gear helps alts |
9 | Spoils of the Vaults quest → Champion bracers | Free Champion-track gear, no group needed |
14 | Second free Altar upgrade |
The Spirit Corrosion point deserves emphasis. Ranks 8 and 14 are two of only six free Spirit Corrosions in the game — the other four come from Discoveries in the Vaults of Atal'Utek. Everything beyond those six costs Corrosive Coins at an escalating rate, and each hand-in costs more than the last. Getting to Rank 14 early saves you a meaningful amount of grinding later.
Rank 4 is the sleeper priority. It turns on your Corrosive Soul drip, and Souls are the scarcest resource in the Altar of Corrosion system. The earlier this activates, the more Souls you bank over the patch cycle.
Collectibles by Rank
Three mounts:
Rank | Mount | How |
|---|---|---|
10 | Speak to Du'gal at the Vaults of Atal'Utek to start the questline | |
17 | Purchase from Jan'sari | |
19 | Purchase from Jan'sari |
Note that Rank 10's mount comes from a questline, not a straight purchase — don't hit Rank 10 and assume it's in your bags.
Pet: Snek'zali unlocks for purchase at Rank 12.
Title: Hash'ura of Zul'jarra at Rank 20.
Transmog:
Rank | Unlock |
|---|---|
2 | |
10 | |
15 | Arsenal: Armaments of the Loa (weapon set) |
16 | |
18 | Four full Ensembles — Warplate of Nalorakk's Chosen (plate), Chainmail of Akil'zon's Chosen (mail), Battlegear of Halazzi's Chosen (leather), Vestments of Jan'alai's Chosen (cloth) |
20 | Mantle of Nalorakk + Axe of the Amani |

Rank 18 is the transmog payoff. All four armour-type ensembles unlock at once, named after the Amani loa bosses from Zul'Aman. If transmog is your goal, 18 is the real target, not 20.
Housing decor unlocks at ranks 3, 7, 11, 13, 15, and 18 — including Amani supply sacks, storage crates, torches, three urn variants, the Idol of Ula'tek, ritual candles and totems, and two Serpentine Reliquary states. Patch 12.1 is the richest housing decor source in Midnight so far.
Voidlight Marl handouts come at ranks 6, 12, and 18 — free currency for other vendors.
How to Farm Renown Fast
50,000 reputation sounds worse than it is. A large chunk comes from one-time content you'll clear naturally in your first week.
Step 1: One-Time Sources (roughly 4,200 rep — about 1.7 ranks)
Lore objects — 250 rep each, 10 total = 2,500 rep. That's exactly one full Renown rank from a single collection sweep. They appear on the minimap as an hourglass vignette. Completing all ten also unlocks the Cursed Badge of the Soulcoilers toy. This is the highest rep-per-minute activity on the island — do it first. (Student of Hissstory)
Rares — 50 rep each on first kill. Every Coiled Isle rare pays rep once. After the first kill they still drop a Coffer Key Shard and Adventurer-track gear daily, so the route stays worth repeating. Two extra mounts — Ruby Writhe and Topaz Skyfang — drop from Coiled Isle rares, which makes the rare loop a collection target as well as a rep source.
Treasures — 22 across the island. Treasure access expands at Rank 3, so do your first story push before the full chest sweep.
Campaign and side stories. Don't skip the campaign to jump straight into repeatables. Story quests pay rep and unlock the activities your weekly farm depends on. They also take you to Tokka's Landing, where the quartermaster lives.
Step 2: Weekly Guaranteed Chunks
Stack these every reset — they're the backbone of consistent progress after week one:
Coiled Isle Special Assignments
Purging the Vaults — weekly quest from Warleader Abdumati inside the Vaults of Atal'Utek
Silvermoon dungeon quests
Bountiful Delve caches
Step 3: Repeatables
Coiled Isle World Quests — run them whenever they appear
Curse Surges — quick scenario events at five spots around the isle, roughly once per hour, marked by a poison vignette. Clear the objectives, kill the final boss.
Vaults of Atal'Utek public events — group content you can farm on demand
Step 4: Multipliers — Don't Skip These
Contract: Zul'jarra's Forces — an Inscription item that adds +10 reputation to every World Quest you complete across all Midnight zones, not just the Coiled Isle. Keep it active whenever you're planning a World Quest batch. Over a full patch cycle this is a substantial amount of free rep for a trivial cost.
Seasonal event buffs — check for active in-game holidays before a big farming session. Hallow's End, for example, grants a 10% reputation buff via the Unburdened (Alliance) or Grim Visage (Horde) effects.
Zone achievements — every Coiled Isle achievement feeding the Ula'tek Uncoiled zone meta also pays Zul'jarra's Forces reputation. Working the achievement list doubles as a rep farm.
